ADOLESCENT COUNSELLING
For many young people adolescence is a time of excitement and incredible possibilities. For others it can be a tremendously challenging journey.
Social pressures, academic challenges, dramatic physical changes, strained relationships at home or at school – add undue stress on young developing minds. Some teenagers find it hard to cope with the resulting negative emotions and may react in ways that have long-term psychological and behavioural impact.
Addressing these challenges during the teen’s critical developmental years can set the stage for a happier, healthier future. I provide compassionate support and meaningful tools to help them through this journey, build resilience and improve coping skills.
Seek help early if you or someone close to you experience any of the following:
- Difficulty managing stress or anger
- Self-harming behaviour and thoughts
- Suicidal ideation
- Substance abuse
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Social challenges and inability to forge meaningful connections
- Learning difficulties
- Low self-esteem
- Family breakdown and conflict
Having a safe space where they may express themselves without fear or judgement is key to equipping youth for a positive and successful transition into adult life.
